Making tea as an exercise.
Making tea as an exercise.
"From an early age, I remember how the women of the house were always making tea for the family and guests. Carrying pots of boiling water and reaching for certain cups arranged around the dastarkhan required dexterity and attention. I likened making tea to practicing yoga and exercise. Where the teapots become weights for the gym. And women do yoga exercises/postures, forming harmonious symmetrical patterns."

In this way, his work oscillates between the personal and the collective. Nurakhmet’s figures are often depicted nude, with obscured features, or without skin or heads.
